We admit, we dropped the ball a bit on book clubs recently. But now they are back and with a bit more structure. The last Wednesday of the month is now officially “Book Club Night” - where we will welcome groups to meet hybrid-style - in-person at The Guild Hall or join remotely.
So how does it work?
1 - Sign up for book groups online via our Trax RSVP link (scroll to the very bottom for books)
2 - Once a book has 5 RSVPs, we’ll connect you with the other dads who signed up for the same book.
3 - Dads correspond and pick the Book Club Night that works best
4 - That night, come to the Guild Hall (or hop on the meeting link) and discuss.
Need a copy of the book? Dad Guild and lend you one. Swing by The Guild Hall.
We’ll do our best to share the confirmed books clubs meeting in advance, in case other dads want to join too. Watch the monthly newsletters as well as our Instagram.

Welcome to Fatherhood (WTF)
WTF! This three-hour workshop for expecting dads takes place quarterly. Dads-to-be will get the crash course on all things baby- related, including hearing from a doula from Vermont Doula Company and from a handful of “seasoned” dads about what to expect. They’ll also get the 20-minute Dad Guild orientation so they all know how they can get involved in Vermont’s largest fatherhood community. Participants will get an instant network of folks in similar positions getting ready to transition into parenthood, and everyone will receive a free copy of the book Baby 411.
Hybrid event: join us in-person or virtually.

The Slide: a conversation about modern gaming, online radicalization, and parenthood
Video gaming has never been more widespread. Sadly, harmful hateful content that can radicalize young viewers has also never been more widespread. Those responsible for radicalization often use gaming spaces to achieve it.
Come join us for an open, interactive conversation on Thursday, May 22nd from 7pm - 9pm moderated by Grant Patterson, owner / operator of the WNFC esports Dojo afterschool program. We’ll discuss what radicalization mechanisms look like, how they target the minds of children, and what we can do as parents to ensure gaming remains a positive activity. Recommended for dads of kids 9+

Understanding Child Dysregulation
When your kid is melting down at the end of the day, do you know what’s happening in their brain? In this workshop, we'll learn all about dysregulation and the "window of tolerance," which will help us better understand why our child is expressing big feelings that may show up in a variety of different ways. We'll then reflect on how we can become more attuned to our children's regulatory states and how we can intervene using co-regulation. This workshop is facilitated by Alex Shevrin Venet, education expert and author of the books Equity-Centered Trauma Informed Education and Becoming an Everyday Changemaker.
