Nurturing Father’s Program

3-4 times a year, Dad Guild - in collaboration with Prevent Child Abuse Vermont - offers the Nurturing Father’s Program for participation remotely.

The 13-week class is designed to focus on developing attitudes and skills for male nurturance. Each week, a new topic is addressed, including:

  • their own relationships with their fathers

  • nurturing themselves/their children

  • fathering sons/daughters

  • discipline without violence

  • playing with their children

  • managing anger/resolving conflict

  • teamwork with a spouse

  • balancing work and parenting

  • communication and problem solving

  • cultural influence

  • dealing with feelings

  • and working on “The Father I Choose To Be.”

Check our events page or contact Prevent Child Abuse Vermont to confirm when the next session begins.

We encourage fathers to model vulnerability and talk about fatherhood topics as much as possible, across a variety of platforms. Normalizing fatherhood engagement is extremely important in our work, and the sharing of personal stories and perspectives is crucial to our success. Please reach out if you have a perspective you would like to share and want support getting it out there.

Anti-Racism

Our organization is dedicated to doing our part to help dismantle systemic racism in our society, and we’re encouraging all fathers connected to Dad Guild to be a part of the solution as well. We're still working through how best we can contribute, but as part of that process we want to share what we're finding.
