Dad Guild offers a wide range of programming, all designed to meet dads where they are at
Our events fall into the following categories:
Dads Only: Social and peer-support events intended for dads to connect
Caregiver Education: Opportunities for dads to deepen their knowledge on parenting topics. Intended as “dads only” unless otherwise stated.
Dads & Kids: Fun events for dads to meet and bring their kids to play
Whole Family: Big events where all caregivers and members of the family are welcome to join
Other details to note about our programming. You’ll see events listed with the following keywords:
Drop in - no registration required. Just come on by!
RSVP - we ask for dads to pre-register so we have a sense of attendance
In-person - event takes place in-person at the listed time and location
Virtual - event takes place online, via Zoom or Google Meet
Hybrid - event is both in-person and virtual. Attend whichever way works best. RSVPs will be emailed the meeting link in advance.

Upper Valley: Hike up Wrights Mountain
Join Dad Guild and Vermont Center for Ecostudies ecologist Ryan Rebozo for a 1.7-mile round trip hike. Snacks provided (please bring your own water)

Sunday Morning Fam Jams
The Guild Hall is officially open for families to enjoy Sunday morning from 9:30am - 11am. From 9:30 - 10:00, father, musician and early childhood educator Alex Baron facilitates a weekly fam jam for all family members. We’ll have some instruments on hand for you and your littles to enjoy! Following the musical portion of the morning, families are invited to spend the next hour enjoying a casual playgroup in the space. Families had been hanging around afterwards anyways, so we figured we’d just make it official!
Programming is designed for children ages 0-3 years
Additionally, our good friends at Haymaker Buns downstairs will be offering $5 kids’ meals with any adult meal purchased to all playgroup attendees!

Fletcher Free Library Playgroup
Join us on the second Sunday of every month from 3:30pm - 5pm for a low-key playgroup at the Fletcher Free Library in Burlington. We’ll be in the kids’ section, most likely sprawled out on the floor somewhere, attempting to have conversations with one another while our kids have other plans. Come with low expectations and you won’t leave disappointed.

After a long hiatus & search for a new home, we are excited to announce that Dad Guild's (very low-key) pick-up basketball is back! Starting Tuesday, June 3rd, join Dad Guild for pick-up basketball every Tuesday from 7pm-9pm at the Mater Christi School Gymnasium. There is parking, but there isn't an available bathroom onsite, so plan accordingly!

Join us for a Dad Guild Rail Trail Walk this summer! Meet at Lucky’s Coffee Garage at 10:00 a.m. (we’ll head out right on time) for a relaxed, family-friendly out-and-back stroll on the beautiful Mascoma River Greenway. It’s a great chance to meet and connect with other Dads in the Upper Valley. Free and convenient parking is available just steps away at 10 Taylor Street behind Lebanon City Hall.

The most elite & prestigious disc golf league for dads and masculine-identifying parents who live in Vermont returns for 2025! And here's the beautiful part: you can participate two different ways! Kidical Mass Family Bike Ride
Join Local Motion and Dad Guild for a group bike ride, walk, roll or stroll. All ages and abilities are welcome.
Need a bike to participate? Discounted rentals are available through Local Motion. Contact val@localmotion.org for details.
We’ll meet at the Local Motion shop on the Waterfront, by One Main Amtrak station. Then the route heads south to Oakledge Park, where we will stop for fun in the sun! We'll bring a little craft. BYO snack for a picnic.

We admit, we dropped the ball a bit on book clubs recently. But now they are back and with a bit more structure. The last Wednesday of the month is now officially “Book Club Night” - where we will welcome groups to meet hybrid-style - in-person at The Guild Hall or join remotely.
So how does it work?
1 - Sign up for book groups online via our Trax RSVP link (scroll to the very bottom for books)
2 - Once a book has 5 RSVPs, we’ll connect you with the other dads who signed up for the same book.
3 - Dads correspond and pick the Book Club Night that works best
4 - That night, come to the Guild Hall (or hop on the meeting link) and discuss.

Welcome to Fatherhood (WTF)
WTF! This three-hour workshop for expecting dads takes place quarterly. Dads-to-be will get the crash course on all things baby- related, including hearing from a doula from Vermont Doula Company and from a handful of “seasoned” dads about what to expect. They’ll also get the 20-minute Dad Guild orientation so they all know how they can get involved in Vermont’s largest fatherhood community. Participants will get an instant network of folks in similar positions getting ready to transition into parenthood, and everyone will receive a free copy of the book Baby 411.

The last Saturday evening a month from 8pm-10pm at Rock Point in Burlington, this peer support group shares and connects on a deeper level while modeling vulnerability.

After a rainy cold spring, fingers crossed we get better conditions for our summer playground meet ups! We’ll be meeting up at three different playgrounds across Chittenden County, with stops in Burlington (7/27), Richmond (8/17) and Williston (9/28). All playground playgroups take place on Sunday mornings from 10am - 12pm. See you out there!. See you out there!

Construction Fest
Step into a world of construction for a morning of discovery and fun. Families can watch imaginations soar as kids discover new ways to play, create, and celebrate the people and machines that shape our city. Construction Fest is a free event offering a variety of different hands-on activities for kids of all ages!
Construction Truck Fashion Show: See a variety of construction vehicles on Main Street at 10:15am & 11:15am!
Touch a Truck: Come touch and explore different vehicles, including a Dump Truck, Street Sweeper, Forklift, Sidewalk Plow, and more!
Construction Hat Decoration Activity: Kids can decorate their own construction hat with stickers!
Kids Construction Zone: On City Hall Block, kids can build with giant foam blocks, and play Connect Four & Jenga!
Singalong at 10:30am: Join musician and early educator, Linda Bassick for a musical performance.
Storytime at 11:30am: Immerse yourself in storytelling with the amazing Fletcher Free Library staff.
Additional activities:
Vermont Face & Body will have face painting, spray tattoos, and hair tinsel available!
Suggested Parking: Get two hours free at the Main and Winooski lot, just one block away from the event. You can also get two hours free at the Downtown Garage (entrances on College, Cherry, and Battery streets). Just make sure to start a ParkMobile session!

KIDS HOP: Cardboard Fest
Join us for a special Kids Hop (part of Art Hop) version of our recurring Cardboard Creations series.
We recently got our hands on 5 Chomp Saws, which are kid-friendly table saw type machines for cutting cardboard that you absolutely cannot get hurt on, and we’re excited to try them out with all of you! We’ve been collecting cardboard from all of our friends here at The Soda Plant, and we’ll spend the morning making all kinds of things our imaginations can come up with. Feel free to bring any other supplies you think you might need!

ART HOP: Open House & Friday Hang
Dad Guild is participating in the 2025 South End Art Hop!
On Friday we’ll be hosting an “Open House” of sorts at The Guild Hall to welcome the Art Hop crowds into our space and learn more about what Dad Guild is up to. Any and all dads are welcome to join this modified version of a “Friday Night Hang.” (Just know, the Soda Plant will be crowded and parking will be very limited.)

Family Camping Trip Series - Waterbury
Campers of all experiences are welcome to attend these family friendly outings (partners are welcome too). We've got a handful of campsites booked, so you just need to save your spot by registering. This summer, one of our rad dads with a baby, Corey, will be hosting a couple of opportunities for dads & babies to meet up at Oakledge, go for a stroll, then chill in the grass. Meetups will take place on Sundays of July 20 & August 10 from 10am - 11:30am.
